Our History and Timeline

Prudent Technology was founded in 2014 by a small group of reputable professionals who held the common belief that there was a better way to provide services than what has traditionally prevailed through the federal contracting route. We have been certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Small, Disadvantaged, Women-owned, and Minority-owned Business (SWaM).

Sumaya Arevalo
Chief Executive Officer

Sumaya has over 15 years of professional experience in management and leadership. She has a degree in Government and International Affairs from George Mason University. She has worked with Marriott, All State and GTSI and has also founded multiple businesses in technology, real estate and fashion.

Sumaya loves to travel and know other cultures and diversity around the world. She spends her personal time reading books, working in the garden and quality time with the family

Gautam Kohli
President

Gautam has over 16 years of IT experience in Program Management, Enterprise Quality Governance, Enterprise Test Automation, Data Architecture, Data Management and Software Development. He has a Computer Engineer B.S from Purdue University and started his career as a software developer before moving towards software performance, quality engineering and system architecture. He has worked across multiple industries with clients such as USCIS, USPTO, GSA Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Amtrak among others. Gautam enjoys working with customers in fast paced agile environments. His personal time is spent enjoying cooking, playing cricket and spending quality time with family.

John Murray
Vice President

John has been in the IT field for 36 years and has extensive knowledge in Quality Management and the Software Development Life Cycle. Holding a degree in Mathematics and starting with a professional career beginning at Bell Labs, he has moved successfully through a host of quality-focused assignments spanning more than three decades at such companies as Comcast, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lockheed, IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton, and BAE Systems. John enjoys traveling with his family and is a published author of fictional novels.
